Dear Friends in Junior League of Lafayette:

We are grateful for your consideration for funding for the Shining Light Foundation. Our project proposes to provide musical instruments, equipment and essential supplies, field trips and tutoring services to Lafayette Parish Public School students in kindergarten through sixth grade whose families cannot afford to provide them. We have been met with an overwhelming number of requests for musical instruments and supplies, particularly with the expanded awareness of the program.

Based on the applications currently on file, we anticipate exceeding our budget and financial spending plan. We also anticipate numerous additional requests based on information from teachers, counselors, band directors and principals.

We would greatly appreciate your financial assistance and will implement this project with full accountability. We know that you would be touched by the heart-felt nature and passion of these requests.
