On motion from Rose, seconded by Bruce, the minutes of meeting held 10/10/2023 were approved.

Financial Review

Account Balance 11/13/2023:  $86,782.00. (Money Market $8,847.00; Securities $77,935.00).  The year-to-date rate of return is 12.8%.

New Business

1)     Annual Report filed with Louisiana Secretary of State $15.00 donated by Carolyn.

2)     James Cork, Assistant Band Director for Lafayette High sent email reference applications that were sent; however, SLF has not yet received these.

3)     Christmas Gifting – we decided to continue our program. Rose Cormier will be Chairperson of this committee.    The following charities were selected to receive a $250.00 donation.

Faith House – Billi Lacombe, Executive Director

Mable’s Table – Stephanie Leblanc, Director

Rosa’s Angels – Robin McMillan, Director

Toys for Tots

Women of Wisdom – Phyllis Mouton, Director

4)     Scope of Services – we have reached 32 of the 43 schools in Lafayette Parish.  Cynthia shared the document that we prepared last year for our presentation to the School Board.

5)     Guest Speakers – Anna Laura recommended having a speaker from the Acadiana Center for the Arts at our January meeting.  She will contact Tim Oliver or another representative of ACA to make arrangements.

6)     Christmas event – Our next meeting will be on Tuesday, December 12.

Scholarships:

There were no scholarship requests.

Meeting adjourned at 6:49 pm.  Next meeting date will be held on January 16, 2023, at Live Oak Wealth Advisors, 1042 Camelia Blvd., Suite 11, Lafayette, LA.  Refreshments at 5:30 pm.
