MINUTES of MEETING HELD:  Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at 6:00 pm

On motion from Bruce, seconded by Perry, the minutes of the meeting held Tuesday, October 5, 2021 were approved with one correction.  The photo op meeting at the Lafayette Parish School Board was held on October 29, 2021.

Treasurer’s Report:

Balance: $11,335.55

Scholarships: none

Expenses: $223.33. Renewed the Ring Central Fax subscription

Interest:  $.30

Escrow: $375.00

Invested: $88,958.79

We started at new calendar year in August.

New Business:

1) The photo taken with the Lafayette Parish Superintendent Irma Trosclair, Jennifer Gardner Chief Administrative Officer, and Mary Morrison President of the Lafayette Parish School Board with members of the Shining Light Foundation was sent to Julie to include in our next newsletter.

2) We received an email from Michelle Mahne, Child Care Resource & Referral Marketing Specialist with the Lafayette Parish School Board in reference to ON TRACK by 5 work in our community.  This is a tax credit opportunity in Louisiana to redirect the the business taxes to stay in Lafayette Parish. The cap is $5,000.00.

3) The Shining Light Foundation Board Member Christmas Party will be sponsored by Live Oak Wealth Advisors.  It will be held Tuesday, December 14, 2021 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Live Oak Wealth Advisors office located at 1042 Camelia Blvd, Suite 11 in Lafayette, Louisiana.

4) On motion by Perry, seconded by Mike, The Shining Light Foundation board members unanimously voted to donate to the following organizations that help children.  Photo sessions will depend if their representatives are available, 

$500.00 - Rosa’s Angles

$500.00 - Foster The Love

$500.00 - Toys For Tots

$500.00 - Hearts Of Hope

5) The board decided not to have the Zydeco Cajun Bash in 2022.   Sandra will add a notice in the Shining Light Foundation Facebook page and indicate that donations can be made through the Shining Light Foundation website.
