We received a donation from Cameron Courtney for a $250.00 Target Gift Card; and a $100.00 donation from Asbury Methodist Church of Lafayette, Faithful Friends Sunday School Class. The Target gift card can only be used at Target. It was suggested to use it for paper to print flyers and Mike will check if we can purchase postage stamps.

Prairie Elementary School for 1 student in the 5th grade for field trip on 5/8/2020 to the Audubon Zoo in New Orleans at a cost of $60.00. The student is Alexis Bienvineu.
Woodvale Elementary School for 6 students in the 2nd grade for field trip on 3/12/2020 to the Aquarium at a cost of $15.50 plus bus fee for $26.50. Total $42.00 per student for a total cost of $252.00.

Myrtle Place Elementary for 5 students in the 5th grade to attend a trip to Martinique at a cost of $1,350 per student. The Board decided to grant $350.00 per student for a total cost of $1,750.00. Carolyn will send letter to Principal Catherine Bricelj and teacher Odile Jean to include a stipulation that if the student is not able to fully fund their trip, the Shining Light Scholarship would be returned to the Shining Light Foundation.

On motion from John, seconded by Perry, all of above requests were approved. Carolyn will include the small Shining Light Bash poster with the letter and check to the schools.
Other Business:
Received a Scholarship Review form from Truman school with positive results from teachers Richard and Chitly for four students dated 1/15/2020.
SHINING LIGHT BASH – April 21, 2020 at Vermilionville.
Per John, Chubby Carrier will not be able to attend this year. The musician line up so far: Terry & the Zydeco Bad Boys, Corey Ledet, Leroy Thomas, Reginald Durel, Wayne Singleton, Horace Trahan. He is waiting to hear back from Roddie Romero and Wayne Toups. Mike will place the food order for 250. Bruce will print 250 tickets. Carolyn has printed some of the posters and smaller versions. Chubby’s name will have to be whited out.
