MINUTES OF MEETING HELD January 14th at 6:00PM

MEETING MINUTES - A modification was needed to include information regarding Allen Zeno.   Data now included in December 10th minutes, and report to be reviewed at the January 14th, 2020 meeting. 

Treasurer’s Report  — As of 12/31/2019

We have a balance of $20,080.63.  Escrow $375.00.  Invested $63,499.23.  Scholarships $3182.77  Expenses $467.20.  Donations $500.00.  Interest $11.83.

New Business

Carolyn spoke about SPARK Acadiana and the meeting scheduled January 23rd with Doctor and author John Ratey.  Grade levels were discussed as relates to Shining Light Foundation support?

John Broussard as a roving Counselor.  John said to contact Tonya Hebert.

John discussed bringing several students to the SPARK Meeting.  John will try to identify for attendance.  

Someone mentioned High Schools have a Health Academy.

1)Kylee Wright - Need amount and Principle approval

2)Sir Wilson —   Need amount and Principle  approval

3)Bayleigh Hernandez - Need amount and Principle approval

Cheryl will contact school to find out amount of each request and get Principle approval. Believe amount is $7 per application?

Truman ECEC - Pending - Apps dated 12/12/19.  Carolyn recvd an email request for student, and needed funds day after email received.  Cheryl contacting school to see if still needed.

All 4 applications under review until Chery has chance to check with Schools.

BASH - April 21, 2020 

Carolyn gave attendees a first look at the poster.  Chubby Carrier is not going to be able to attend.  John is firming up performers, but believes has 5 confirmed.

Cynthia, Carolyn, and Bruce spent some time before the meeting began purging previous years paper files, due most of information and files is online, thanks to Bruce.
