On motion of
John, seconded by Carolyn, all of above requests approved, except
that the requests from Woodvale are contingent on whether or not the
3 students from Woodvale actually attended the trip on April 5.
Odile Jean
with Myrtle Place Elementary School spoke to the group regarding the
Special Project requests which was approved on Tuesday, February 12,
2019 at the Shining Light meeting for 5 students for trip to
Martinique Pedcagogical Exchange of students beginning May 25, 2019
to June 1, 2019, providing the School Board approved the trip which
they have done, and provided the students can secure additional
funding which the teacher confirms, Shining Light will pay $350.00
for each of 5 students to go at a cost of $1,750.00.
The teacher
advised she will give us a report on the trip when the students
return.
In a Special Project approved at the January 15, 2019 Meeting we have received the applications from Erin Broussard for 2 Lafayette High School students. The following requests were approved at the January 15, 2019 meeting contingent on receiving the applications.

Bash
Gray
Walker spoke about how much he appreciated having been given a
scholarship for a musical instrument by Shining Light many years ago
and he would like to give a brief testimonial at the Bash. He and
Nick Romero play in a band and would like to sit in on a number at
the Bash.
Every one has his or her assignment for the Bash or can sign up to volunteer on our website.
