MINUTES OF MEETING HELD: Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at 6:00 pm

On motion of Sandra, seconded by Cynthia, Minutes of Meeting held Tuesday, January 15, 2019 approved.

Treasurer’s Report
Present balance: $32,478.53, plus investments and escrow
Donations: $30.00 Network for Good from annonymous Facebook donations; Janice Roane $40.00; Linda Woodwart $50.00; Community Foundation (Pugh Family Fund) $3,000.00

New Business
Applications
Request from Truman Early Childhood Education Center for field trip that child took on 2-4-19 in the amount of $10.00:

On motion of Bruce, seconded by Mike, request approved.

Request from Myrtle Place Elementary School for partial assistance for 5 students to travel to Martinique Pedagogical Exchange May 25 to June 1.

Discussion was had.

On motion of John, seconded by Bruce, it was agreed that Shining Light will fund $350.00 for each of the following named students, provided that the School Board approves the trip; contingent on the students getting the balance of funding for the trip. John will request that the teacher attend our next meeting to discuss the trip.

Bash
John said several bands had committed to play on April 23. Some of the bands are Lil Buck Senegal with Reginald Durel, Horace Trahan, Roddie Romero, J. J. Cailliate will set up equipment, Chubbie Carrier, Leroy Thomas, Corey Deday, and others.

John asked that we give a check to J.J. for $200.00 for taking care of the equipment. Carolyn will talk to June to find out if we can give the bands a $1,000.00 write off donation for their contribution of time and music.

We voted to have royal blue t shirts and Cynthia will order

75 t-shirts:
3 small; 15 medium; 25 large; 17 x-large; 10 xx-large; 10 xxx-large

Kerry and Mike will check on the food. Kerry wondered if perhaps gumbo should be served instead of fried foods. They will check to see what is available.

Cost of tickets will remain $15.00.
