On motion of Bruce, seconded by Cynthia, Minutes of Meeting held December 12, 2018 approved.


Treasurer’s Report
Present balance: $32,429.10; Escrow $1,335.00; Invested $41,474.62
Donations today: Janice Roane $50.00; Marcia and David Wolske $40.00
Summary of awards given thus far for this school year: musical instruments $1,335.00; non-instruments $2,283.36; total children helped 229.


New business
Letter of Resignation of Joseph Cilano.
Carolyn will handle the duties formerly handled by him.


South Louisiana Giving Day is May 9, 2019 and there is an invitation to attend a seminar on January 24, 2019 at a cost of $100.00 if we want to participate. On motion of Carolyn, seconded by Bruce, invitation declined.


Applications
Requests from Prairie Elementary School for 3 students for field trip on February 15, 2019 at a cost of $9.25 per student, as follows:

Request from Truman Early Childhood Education Center for 1 child for field trip on February 4, 2019 at a cost of $10.00, as follows:

On motion of John, seconded by Bruce, all requests approved.


Our guest Erin Broussard spoke to us about a proposed special project involving 2 high school students, a brother and sister, who want to participate in band at Lafayette High School but are unable to afford the summer band camp of $200.00 each and $450.00 fees for the pair.
On motion of Mike, seconded by John, when the appropriate applications are submitted we will grant 75% of the costs, if the parent can pay 25%.


John advised he will try to have a list of the bands for the Bash at the next meeting.
