MINUTES OF MEETING HELD: Monday, March 6, 2017 at 6:00 pm

On motion of Sandra, seconded by Troy, Minutes of Meeting held on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 approved.

 

Treasurer’s Report
Present balance: $37,625.78
We have no balance in escrow as Prof Erny’s bill of $22,048.25 was paid from escrow and the balance transferred to the general fund.
Donations: Linda Woodward $100.00; Carolyn French $1,000.00 deposited into Mackie Fund.
Expenditures on credit card: Copies of Poster $49.60; Food for meeting $79.56   Sandra’s request to spend $20.00 to boost our Bash event on Facebook approved.

Woodvale Elementary requests for the following 10 students for field trip to Baton Rouge Zoo at a cost of $26.00 per student: bus $17.25; Admission $2.50; popcorn $4.25; train ride $2.00 :

On motion of John, seconded by Don, requests approved for a total cost of $260.00.

 


Old Business
Requests from Myrtle Place Elementary School for the following five students for partial funding for a trip to Martinque May 30.  Total cost of the trip is $1,200.00 each: Flight $850.00; Bus $150.00; Tours $100.00; some meals $100.00.  Discussion was held.
On motion of Mike, seconded by Don, that we fund each student at $150.00 each with the condition that we will get a refund of the money designated for each student if that student does not go on the trip.  Joe will prepare a letter to the principal setting forth this condition.  Requests approved on this condition.

Posters were handed out.
T-shirts will be light blue.
Hayley will get with Cynthia to get prices of t-shirts and will determine from sales last year how many of each size to order.
Bruce prepared the tickets and turned them over to Sandra to disperse.

 

Motion by Perry, seconded by John, that we go forward with the Cajun Navy film at the ACA on June 13, 2017, approved.

Next meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at 6:00 pm at 203 Waterside.  Having the meeting on Tuesday, April 4, was discussed but it was later set for April 11.
