MINUTES OF MEETING HELD: Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at 6:00 pm

On motion of Bruce, seconded by Cynthia, Minutes of meeting held Wednesday, September 7, 2016 approved.

 

Treasurer’s Report
Present balance: $31,790.79; escrow $25,673.28; invested $20,268.12; Expenses $850.71
Donations received from UBS Employee matching funds: $2,350.00; $900.00; Janice and George Roane $50.00
On motion of Mike, seconded by John, that before our next meeting we have a conversation with the manager at Prof Erny in an attempt to get an invoice from them for the instruments which have actually been picked up by the students and the costs to Shining Light of those instruments, motion approved.

 

Troy advised that he has spoken with Paget Guidry at the school Board office and that all students from Evangeline Elementary have picked up their instruments.

 

Executive Director Report
Application to Pinhook Foundation for $5,000.00 grant was submitted on September 23, 2016, a copy of which is on our website.
An application for $2,500.00 grant will be submitted to Wal-Mart before the due date of December 31, 2016.
After discussion, it is agreed that an application for grant  be submitted to Ambrose Monell Foundation requesting $76,586.00 so that we may expand into other parishes.  This application is due October 31, 2016.
Everyone is asked to consider what committee or committees they will be willing to serve on.
