MINUTES OF MEETING HELD: Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at 5:30 pm

Cookie Tuminello presented an Exercise in Vision Planning to re-examine our mission statement and goals for our organization.

 

Recognition ceremony held and certificates presented to Mrs. Renee White, Prinicipal of Alice Boucher Elementary School and to Buddy Van Wick, Band Director,  honoring them for their commitment to their students.

 

Treasurer’s Report
Present balance: $35,183.74
Donations received: Junior League $2,500.00; Janice Roane $100.00; Chevron Matching Employee Funds $500.00; UBS employee matching funds $1,000.00
Cynthia will be picking up a check payable to her for reimbursement costs of copying brochures and calendars

 

New Business
Letter of Agreement with Junior League signed and delivered by Cynthia who attended the awards ceremony tonight and accepted the check on behalf of our Foundation.

 

Carolyn met with the Superintendent of Lafayette Parish Schools and will attend the next principals’ meeting to be sure they are aware of the opportunities that Shining Light offers students.

 

Cynthia attended the Louisiana Non Profit Organizations meeting and got a lot of good information which she will share at a later meeting.

Motion by Mike, seconded by Bruce, that the 2 requests from Burke Elementary and 1 request from Duson Elementary for mouthpieces and books only be awarded at 100% approved.
Motion by Mike, seconded by John that the requests on behalf of Baza and Warner who have not submitted applications, be approved on condition that the proper applications will be submitted, approved.

 

Motion by Mike, seconded by John, to grant all other submitted applications, approved.
