MINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING HELD: Monday, January 27, 2014 at 6:00 pm

Special meeting was held to discuss plans for a Cajun/Zydeco concert to be held at Vermilionvile to benefit Shining Light.
By unanimous vote, Cheryl Evans was named to the Board of Directors.
John agreed to firm up the date with Vermilionvile for the event, trying for Wednesday, April 2 or Wednesday, April 16.
John said Vermilionville will waive the deposit normally required. Vermilionville gets the take from the bar. Shining Light gets the take from the door and food.
He
will also contact the musicians who will donate their time.
They will do 5 selections each, starting around 8:00 p.m.
When
he has a firm date and commitment from the musicians, Bruce will
print up about 300 tickets to be sold both prior to the event and at
the door for $10.00 each.
We discussed selling T-shirts but decided only Members will wear T-shirts. T-shirts will be royal blue with gold emblem and lettering.
Food was discussed but nothing definite was decided. John and Mike will both talk to contacts about food preparation and report at the next meeting.
We still need a name for this event.
Subsequent to this meeting, John confirmed the date of Wednesday, April 16 for the event.
Next meeting will be held Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at 6:00 pm at the UBS Office.
