MINUTES OF MEETING HELD: Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at 5:30 pm

On motion of Mike, seconded by Sandra, Minutes of Meeting held April 2, 2013, with insertion under New Business of Check#468 and invitation to Christy Sharon, approved.
Christy Sharon of Sylvan Learning Center presented each member with a t-shirt. She gave a report regarding Davion St. Julien’s progress. He has attended 29 hours of tutoring, has a wonderful attitude, and will be ready for promotion to 4th grade.
On motion of Mike, seconded by Bruce, an additional 8 weeks of tutoring, 2 hours per week for the sum of $336.00 is approved.

Business
Because of a family emergency John was unable to
attend the meeting but reported to Michael by phone that he has 2
applications for field trips which are completed that he recommends
we approve. On motion of Mike, seconded by Bruce, applications
are approved. Details to be provided in the Minutes of the next
meeting.
Sandra informed Christy Sharon that she will volunteer her time should Sylvan need a Spanish interpreter.
Carolyn advised that she had spoken with Larry Lanclos and told him that someone from Shining Light would like to speak to the Beavers Club. Cynthia will contact him to explain the named scholarship program.
