motion of John, seconded by Bruce, above awards approved.
As to the telephone request for a trumpet for Taji Hayes, we require a completed application from S. J. Montgomery Elementary School.
Request
from Sylvan Learning Center for tutoring sessions for Davion St.
Julien,
a 3rd grade student at Evangeline Elementary School.
The student needs tutoring
2 hours each week in reading in order
to pass. After much discussion, on motion of
John, seconded
by Bruce, it was agreed that after a completed Applicationis
received from the child’s school, we will provide
one-half
of the funds for 8 weeks of tutoring: 8 weeks, 2 hours per
week at
$42.00 per hour equals $336.00.
We will request an update from Sylvan Learning Center at the end of 8 weeks.
Discussion was held regarding raising funds by offering named Scholarships.
Carolyn will appear on John’s Saturday morning radio show and discuss this.
