SHINING LIGHT FOUNDATION

MINUTES OF MEETING HELD: Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at 5:30 pm

On motion of Bruce, seconded by Cynthia, Minutes of Meeting held February 7, 2012 were approved.

Treasurer's Report
Present balance: $22,133.37.  The balance indicated is after funds allocated for Prof Erny.  We are waiting an invoice from Prof Erny for musical instruments.  We received a $25.00 donation from Dan Eaton, New Life Foundation.   Year to date:  Scholarships $6,917.75  Expenses $126.00  Donations $4,260.23  Interest $1.76.

Old Business

Bruce has updated the website with a list of counselors and teachers.  He also added copies of the grant application for Stuller Foundation and the Pugh progress report.    Julie completed the Shining Light Newsletter Volume 1, Issue 5.    Carolyn will send a newsletter to George & Janie Roane, Prof Erny, Ken Privat, and the Pugh Foundation.   Mildred will be addressing the newsletters for the school teachers and counselors.  Cynthia has also volunteered to help.

New Business

We received two applications from Prairie Elementary, both were approved.

Yusof Elgamel - $13.40  (Field trip to Global Wildlife Louisiana Museum $9.80, and Capital, bus trip $23.60.  Parents will contribute $20.00)

Nour Elgamel - $40.00  (Audubon Zoo $10.00; Aquarium $10.00)

Next meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at 5:30 pm at the UBS office, 1021 E. St. Mary.
