MINUTES OF MEETING HELD: Monday, September 15, 2008 at 5:30 pm

Minutes of the prior meeting on 7/28 and 8/18 were approved

Treasurer’s Report
Current balance $21,704.71. A deposit of $336.00 from Chevron/Bruce Snow was made. $29.30 earned interest from CD matured; $15.24 from money fund interest.

New Applications
No applications were received.

New Business
The Daisy Project – Dyslexic Adults in Support of Youth.

Christy Sharon/Sylvan Learning Center gave an update on Joseph Laire. They are willing to participate in a 36 week scholarship for the Daisy project. The center conducts pre and post testing to measure success. Joseph has completed the pre-test and his Mom is very supportive. Joseph is in the 3^rd grade and the goal is to increase one grade level as he was held back one year. Shining Light is being requested to participate in a scholarship of $500. Michelle will follow up with Robert Hodges on whether the foundation bylaws will allow for this one-time scholarship.

Buddy Van Wyck has sent 22 applications and is hoping to receive feedback by next week. He is aware of the limit of 5 students per school. We have not received any other applications at this time. Michelle will call John to verify if any applications have been received.
