SHINING LIGHT FOUNDATION

MINUTES OF MEETING HELD: Tuesday, August 28, 2007 at 5:30 pm

Special meeting held to consider any requests for musical instruments.

Treasurer’s Report
Unchanged since August 9 meeting.  Balance is $19,529.

Old Business
Bruce has sent faxes to elementary and middle schools regarding change in fax number where they are to send applications and a notation that requests must be submitted by the first of the month.

New Business
Cynthia and John will check on open houses at the various schools to be held and try to make the teachers and counselors aware of the availability of scholarships offered by Shining Light to children who need such help.

Sandra handed out copies of our donor list.

Julie completed the application for Stuller Foundation grant and the application will be delivered tomorrow.

New Applications
Request from Prairie Elementary for Kyle Nelson for a trumpet, cost $200, $50 to be paid by parent and $150 to be paid by Shining Light.

Request from Prairie Elementary for Brachele George for a trumpet, cost $200, $50 to be paid by parent and $150 to be paid by Shining Light.

On motion of John seconded by Sandra to grant the request for Kyle Nelson and to tentatively grant the request for Brachele George pending submission of appropriate application, approved.

Meeting adjourned at 6:20 pm.

Next regular meeting previously scheduled for Monday, September 10, 2007 is RESCHEDULED for Tuesday, September 11, 2007 at 5:30 pm at the Smith Barney office.
