Mike, seconded by Bruce, Minutes of Meeting held July 9, 2007 approved.
Treasurer’s
Report
Present balance: $19,529
It was agreed that CD maturing in September or October be renewed.
Donation received from the Roane Family in the amount of $25.00.
Sandra will look up membership levels of the various donors to Shining Light.
The application for a Gannett Grant was submitted on July 13 and all present
thanked Julie for her diligence in getting this application prepared.
Old Business
Motion by Bruce and seconded by Julie that in the event no motion was ever made
to amend the By-Laws to allow for a 12 member Board of Directors, approved.
Mike will
contact Robert to find out if the By-Laws were amended to include a 12 member
Board.
Mildred will contact John to find out if he was able to attend the Counselors
meeting which was held.
The application for Stuller Grant is due September 1 and Julie is working on
this.
New Business
Michelle emailed a current price list of musical instruments and supplies from
Prof Erny's store.
Cynthia reported
that she had submitted evidence of Shining Light’s donation to Acadiana High
School Business and Finance School in applying for a grant from Wal-Mart’s
Matching Funds Program and the school received a $1,000 donation.
At Michelle’s email request, a special meeting to consider applications for musical instruments so that the students who apply may participate in band as early as possible was scheduled for Monday, August 27, 2007, and subsequently rescheduled for Tuesday, August 28, 2007 at 5:30 pm.
Meeting
adjourned at 6:40 pm.
Next regular meeting will be held on Monday, September 10, 2007 at 5:30 pm at
the Smith Barney Office.
