SHINING LIGHT FOUNDATION

MINUTES OF MEETING HELD: Monday, July 9, 2007 at 5:30 pm

On motion of John, seconded by Mike, Minutes of Meeting held Monday, June 4, 2007 be amended to reflect that the request from Ernest Gallet Elementary for trombone mouthpiece and a cleaning kit was by Alice Washington for Joseph St. Julien and that the Minutes be approved.  Minutes approved.

Old Business
John reported that the request from Ernest Gallet Elementary School for Joseph St. Julien for trombone mouthpiece and cleaning kit for $55, and previously approved for $30, is withdrawn as he is not going to the next grade.

John has made a call requesting the date of the next counselors’ meeting but has not received any information thus far.  He will contact the golf pros to get a list of future golf tournaments.

Information given to Julie regarding Stuller Foundation Grant.  The application deadline for the  Stuller Grant is September1 and the application for the Gannett Foundation Grant is August 15.  Julie, and possibly with the help of Hayley, will attempt to get these applications ready for submission.

New Business
Bruce: it is requested that when you send the fax to the schools in August with the new fax number that you also direct them to the website to download the new application forms and stress that it is imperative that they submit applications for field trips PRIOR to the field trips.

Julie has a saxophone which has been given to her which we need to donate.

Julie said that Raymond Hebert told her that he will be willing to put the Shining Light information on the Community Foundation website.  Robert said it may already be listed on that website and we need to check on that.

Mike handed out copies of Nomination Form for Community Leadership Awards available for investment firm employees.  He will attempt to get the information together to nominate Carolyn.
