On motion of
Bruce, seconded by Michelle, Minutes of Meeting held March 13, 2007 approved.
Treasurer’s
Report:
Present balance is
$19,316.72
Previously
approved:
Request from Ernest Gallet Elementary School for Lazaro Sardury for a
trombone. After speaking with Larry Erny at Prof Erny’s, Hayley LeJeune
advised that the amount due Prof Erny’s for the Shining Light portion of the
trombone is $120.00 which is 75% of customary cost of $160.00 and the parent is
responsible for the balance.
Request from
Alice Boucher Elementary School for Lashell Alexander for a flute and Shining
Light will pay 75% of $125.00 which equals $93.75 and the parent will pay the
balance.
A check in the
amount of $213.75 was issued to Prof Erny’s Music.
Old Business
Bruce has updated the
website.
New Business
Michelle will update the
Application Forms which will have a new Fax number on them and will remove her
mailing address from the form. Application Forms will have John
Broussard’s Fax number 984-7535, and Shining Light’s P. O. Box 60602,
Lafayette, LA 70596.
New
Applications
Request from Evangeline
Elementary School for Isaiah Arceneaux in the amount of $10.50 for a field trip
to Baton Rouge. On motion of Michelle, seconded by Bruce, approved.
Request from
Sylvan Learning Center for scholarships for 10 children to attend the Sylvan
Math Camp this summer in the amount of $50.00 each. On motion of
Michelle, seconded by Robert, approved.
The secretaries
at Smith Barney are planning a garage sale soon, the proceeds of which will be
donated to a charity. Carolyn will appear before the group to ask that
Shining Light Foundation be considered for receiving a portion of the proceeds.
Next meeting is
scheduled for Monday, May 7, 2007 at 5:30 pm at the Smith Barney Office and
will be the Reception for Principals, Counselors, and interested
Teachers. Bruce will send out the invitations by fax.
