MINUTES OF MEETING HELD: Monday, June 13, 2005

On motion of Michelle Izzo, seconded by Mike Huber, Minutes of the Meeting of May 9, 2005 approved.
Guest, Christy Sharon with Sylvan Learning Center presented 9 applications for the summer Math Facts Camp at Sylvan. Out of the 9 applications, 7 have paid their $25 deposit. Sylvan also has an application from a student transferring from a private school to J. Wallace James Elementary School who would benefit from the Math Facts Camp. She will contact J. Wallace James to ask them to fill out an application for this student.
The following students are approved for $50 award each for the Math Facts Camp:
From Prairie Elementary: Jillian Lynn
Lena Franklin
Kallie Guidry
From Burke Elementary: Chloe Smith
From Alice Boucher Elementary: Jamal Washington
China Vedol
From Live Oak Elementary: Daniel Delafosse
Sylvan will send us a statement.
On motion of Mike, seconded by Julie Eaton, should Christy be unable to get in touch with the school counselor to submit an application, this child will be allowed to attend the camp anyway, approved. She will continue to try to get in touch with the parent or parents of the other 2 children to obtain their deposits.
Present balance is $19,263.59
Refund check received from Broadmoor Elementary School for Draylon Francis and Dondre' Francis in the
amount of $74.00 as they were unable to go on the field trip.
Refund check received from Ernest Gallet Elementary for Durius Lazare in the amount of $14.95 as he has
moved.
Hayley and Carolyn will contact the Junior League to see if we can get an extension of time to spend the
remainder of the grant.
Hayley has pictures taken at a school concert with students who have received our awards.
Hayley will follow up on a grant request to David Tom Foundation.
Thank you letters from various schools were read.
Meeting adjourned at 6:45 pm.
Next meeting will be held on Monday, August 8, 2005 at 5:30 pm at the Smith Barney office.
No meeting will be held in July.
