Carolyn French
announced the resignation of Ruth Duhon as Treasurer. The resignations of Melissa Douet and Lou Montgomery as Directors
was announced.
Treasurer’s Report:
Present balance is $16,632.
Old Business
Dana Schmersahl
reported that J. Wallace James School was not awarded the grant by Lafayette
Junior League but that Junior League did recommend a private donor who will
give the school $5,000. She explained
all of the procedures of how the students and parents were interviewed and
selected to receive the string instruments which we purchased and how much it
meant to the school.
Larry Erny reported
that the parent of Jon Mouton who was on the approved list to receive a leased
instrument did come in and sign the lease agreement on 11-8-04 for a trombone
and that Shining Light’s portion of 3/4 of this instrument is $120. He further advised that Cullen J. Zeno’s
parent had returned the violin to him since she had also gotten a violin from
Lafayette Music and that our account will be credited $82.50.
New Business
Motion by John
Broussard, seconded by Michelle Izzo, that Tony Moore be named Treasurer,
approved.
Motion by Mike
Huber, seconded by John Broussard, that Bruce Snow be named Bookkeeper,
approved.
Michelle Izzo and
John Broussard are appointed to accept and screen all applications for awards.
