     MINUTES OF MEETING OF SHINING LIGHT

 

 

Meeting held this date at 6:30 p.m. at KLFY, Channel 10, Carolyn French, presiding.

 

Slate of officers named as follows:

 

Carolyn French, President

Robert Hodges, Vice President

Ruth Duhon, Treasurer

Mildred Baker, Secretary

Mike Huber, Scribe

 

Motion by Robert Hodges, seconded by Melissa Wattigny, to change the name of the organization to Shining Light Foundation submitted and agreed to by all members present.  Amendment to Articles of Incorporation signed and will be filed with the proper authorities.

 

Three new members were welcomed: Penny M. Black, Lou Montgomery, and Margaret C. Patton.

 

The following members are named to the Document Committee to develop letterhead stationery forms, brochures, and other forms for communicating with the public:            Penny Black, Margaret Patton, Robert Hodges, Ruth Duhon, and Melissa Wattigny.

 

Treasurer reported the sum of $6,719.61 in the Foundation’s account.

 

The form for Application for Scholarship Funds will be changed in certain respects and the form e-mailed to Dee Stanley who plans to send it to the printer for 1,000 copies on pale yellow paper, two-sided.  The scholarship amount will be changed to read “Subject to student’s needs and available funds.”  The paragraph Application Limit will be removed.  Scholarship funding must be approved by at least three (3) members: the President, Treasurer, and any other board member.  Checks will be made payable to school board employee.  The paragraph Time Frame will be changed to read: “The committee should receive the application on or before the 15th of the month in order to be considered that month.  Any applications received after that date will be considered the following month.  School board employee will be notified by the 10th of the following month whether or not the application was funded.”

 

Next meeting will be held on Monday, November 5, 2001, at 5:30 P.M., at the Symphony Office, corner Travis & Harding.
